The guns also take into account their range, which makes bullets disappear after they surpass their intended range. The ballistics are realistic, taking into account bullet drop and the fact that guns aren't accurate 100% of the times even in real life. The first couple of hours of the game are an absolute nightmare no matter how good a gamer you are, and that's an intended design choice. I'd start off by saying that its reputation as being a tough game is not without merit. In the almost 37 hours I played the game, I did not encounter a single bug, but I'd rather attribute that to my luck than the game being polished, because most players who went vanilla seem to have encountered at least a couple. Also, worth noting is that I played it vanilla, in spite of everybody suggesting that one should at least install ZRP (bug fixes mod). As suggested by everybody on the subreddit and on YouTube, I played it on the highest difficulty (Master) and disabled crosshairs. Finally got around to playing it after having bought it more than half a year ago, and I didn't regret a single dime, or a single second I spent on it. I had been hearing a lot about the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series for a while, especially because of all the Anomaly (and GAMMA, to a lesser extent) content floating around on YouTube and other places.
